BOYD COLEMAN, PE
Boyd founded StrucRite in 1996 and is the principal engineer and managing partner of the firm. He is a licensed PE, and has worked in the design and construction industry for over 25 years. He studied at Marquette University School of Engineering and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structural design.
Prior to founding StrucRite, he worked on numerous industrial and commercial projects as a project manager, designer, estimator and multi-state district manager responsible for training contractors in the design and estimating of pre-engineered buildings.
During this time he acquired crucial design, construction administration and preservation experience while working on a wide range of projects, and in industries including medical complexes, office buildings, shopping malls, manufacturing facilities, schools and churches. This background has proven extremely beneficial for managing projects involving engineering consultants and understanding the implications of complicated land-use issues. He is an exceptional software technician and developed design and estimating programs during his tenure at Inland Buildings. Proficient in CAD and Building Information Modeling (BIM) programs, he strongly believes it is more important than ever that designers are able to comfortably navigate these programs as effective design and estimating tools.
